Component

Label

A standalone field label. Inside a FormField use FormField.Label instead, which associates itself with the control for you.

Basic

Associated the plain HTML way, with htmlFor pointing at the control's id.

Required

required adds a marker after the label text.

  • The marker is hidden from assistive technology - set required on the control as well, which is what screen readers announce

Inside a Fieldset

A Fieldset groups related controls; each still needs its own label.

Account
  • Prefer FormField.Label when composing inside a FormField - it wires up the association and the disabled state

API reference

requiredfalse
boolean

Shows a required-field marker after the label text.

Also accepts everything from React.LabelHTMLAttributes<HTMLLabelElement>.
